Mitered Corners on Binding
This is the binding on Geese Galore, a pattern in American Quilter magazine's January 2018 issue. Use the
size of binding strip you are comfortable with - I usually use a 2-1/4” strip. I always cut binding across
the width of fabric and join the strips together at 45 deg.
Press the binding strip in half lengthwise, then sew to the front of the quilt - I like to use 3/8” seam
allowance. When you get to a corner, stop 3/8” before the corner. Repeat in the other direction so both
fabrics are sewn to exactly the same spot.
